7 Months!

Baby girl is getting so big!!  I can’t believe we’re over the half year mark and getting closer to her 1-year birthday!  She just get cuter and more fun by the day, which just baffles me!  How is that possible?!?  I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like I finally got my groove back (yes, just now at 7 months!)  I feel pretty confident in this new mother role…feeling much less stressed out and getting comfortable with our new way of life.  It definitely took some time to settle into it, but I’m here!  I have found more time recently to spend with friends, which I think has helped tremendously too!  Life is good!

Along with the good, also comes the bad….little miss experienced her first fever! L  I will have to admit that we were a little freaked out at first, but everything is ok now!  We think she was just battling a cold/sinus infection.  Oh, the joys of daycare!  I used to blame all the other “germy kids”….now I guess she’s one of them!  It definitely broke our hearts to see her sick, but she was a trooper and is feeling much better now….whew!

No recent doctor visit…but we took her unofficial weight the other day and it was over 16 lbs!  Go, baby girl!  You’re really getting heavy in that carrier!!

Milestones:

  • Mostly in 6 month clothes…and several of her Carter’s outfits are TIGHT!  Geez…they grow way too fast!
  • Bedtime is between 7 – 7:30 p.m...usually wakes up anywhere between 5:30 – 6:30 a.m.  I’ll take it!  Still sleeping in her pack n play in our room.  She is going through a phase where at bedtime, as soon as we lay her down, she immediately rolls over, then sits straight up and rocks her butt back and forth with a big smile on her face.  It’s actually really adorable, but after about the 20th time of laying her back down, it gets a little old!
  • Moved up to the Infant 3 class at school on 8/19/13.  All the kids in the class are crawling and pulling up except for Emma and Reid…but I’m sure it won’t be long!
  • Is all over the place!  Not quite crawling yet, but trying VERY hard!  She loves to sit up, roll around…basically she just likes to move!  On 8/20/13, she actually crawled just a little, then face-planted!  One day in Infant 3 and she’s already about to crawl!
  • Sitting up by herself and has just learned to go from laying down to sitting up all by herself.
  • Loves eating her tootsies, toys, books, remote, phone, my hair, etc.!  Puts everything in her mouth!!
  • Loves “talking”/”singing” more…still no “mama”
  • 6 oz. at each feeding…and usually eats two “meals” a day.  She has oatmeal cereal at school, then a veggie or fruit at night.  We’ve had green beans, peas, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes and apples so far.  She has loved them all!
  • Waving!  She has the most adorable pageant wave.  I have NO idea where she learned it, but it is the cutest thing I have ever seen!  I’m not 100% sure she knows that she’s waving, but she is definitely learning that people react when she does it!

Favorites:

  • Smiling (all the time!)
  • Talking/singing
  • Watching Baby First TV
  • Chewing on her hands and tootsies…and anything!
  • Standing...with mommy and daddy's assistance of course
  • Story time before bed…and books in general
  • Pulling Mommy’s hair!  (OUCH!)
  • Laughing at Daddy when he “gets her belly”
  • Sitting up, rolling around, trying to crawl
  • Eating!
  • Jumping and playing in her jumperoo
  • Waving

Dislikes:

  • Still not a huge fan of the car seat...she would much rather be out seeing the world instead of strapped into something!
  • Avocados!!  We tried to feed her avocados on 8/18 and it was a HUGE fail!  At first she just made a nasty face…then she gagged really bad, then she threw up!!  We have no idea what that was all about, but needless to say, we won’t be trying avocados again until she has the ability to ask us for them!
  • She definitely doesn’t like you trying to control her hands/arms.  For instance, when we’re feeding her solids and try to clean her hands, she gets pretty irritated!

I'm 7 months!

Poor baby when she had a fever.  Although I felt terrible for her, I enjoyed the snuggles!
  • Sweet picture that Emma's teacher took at school

    Hello world!

Here I am...waving and just being cute!
