November - Now!

I can't believe I haven't updated my blog since November and my first baby shower.  Geez...so many things happened between then and now!  What a crazy, busy time!  We had another beautiful baby shower hosted by several of Jason's friends and their wives the week after our first shower.  I feel so lucky to have made such great friends with Jason's friends' wives.  What a fabulous group of girls!  The shower was so adorable and we were so thankful for the generosity of all our friends and family.  My parents were also able to come in town for the weekend, so it was great to spend time with them and have them be involved.

Let's see..next came Thanksgiving...food, food and more food.  'Nuf said.  I was so thankful to be pregnant during the holidays.  I defintely didn't feel as guilty for eating all the amazing food...and I got to wear stretchy maternity jeans the whole time...score!

After Thanksgiving, Jason's mom and sisters threw us another baby shower for the Hand family and family friends.  Again, totally overwhelmed by all the love, support and generosity!  Being pregnant really makes you feel loved! ;)  Trisha, Brandi and Mandy did a great job with the shower, from the decorations to the yummy food!  Love my in-law family!!

Next came Christmas and New Year's (now do you see why I didn't have any time to blog!?!) We had a low-key Christmas and had tons of fun giving gifts to our nieces and nephews.  Next year's Christmas is going to be SO much fun....little Emma will be almost 1!!  Wow.  We also had a pretty low-key New Year's Eve (notice a trend?)  Jason and I went to Stoney River for dinner and I was so proud of myself that I fit into a sequined shirt that I wore a few years ago for New Year's.  I thought I was going to bust out of it after our meal!!  Sadly, we didn't make it to midnight...but who could stay awake after such a huge, yummy meal?!?  And in between Christmas and New Year's, Brandon, Carrie, Brittany and Bella came for a visit!  It was SO great to see them...especially considering I don't think we'll be able to make a trip to Hawaii to visit them any time soon!  We had fun just catching up and going to Gaylord Opryland's ICE!  Although it was a short visit, I am so happy they were able to come!  Love them!

Now it's January 2013...time flies!  As we all know, you can only plan your life to a certain extent...and the rest is in God's hands...and we definitely got a surprise a little earlier than we expected!

And that brings us to January 7th...a day that would change our lives forever...Emma's birth story is up next!!
