Emma's First Two Weeks

Are you serious??  Emma is already two weeks old!  I know time flies, but WOW!  We definitely have our hands full with this beautiful little girl!  She is just the cutest thing ever and we're starting to learn all the little things about her personality.  I think it's safe to say that I cry at least once a day (usually at stuff on TV...Parenthood, commercials about babies...I even cried during Ellen today - because they featured a sweet 7-year-old boy that was born with a heart defect).  And Jason and I laugh more than ever just watching Emma's facial expressions...and listening to her bodily functions!  Very entertaining! ;)

We got fabulous news at her two week appointment.  She is growing like a weed!  When we left the hospital, Emma was 5 lb. 2 oz., then a few days later at her first pediatrician appointment, she weighed 5 lb. 1 oz.  They said the goal was for her to be back at her birth weight by her two week appointment.  To our surprise, she surpassed her birth weight quite a bit!  You go little girl!

Weight: 5 lb. 14 oz.

Length: 19.25 inches

We're still in the 5th percentile for weight and length, but our doctor was very pleased with her growth!  Yippee!
