We celebrated Christmas with my parents in Harlingen, TX the weekend of December 11th and we had tons of fun! Along with eating our favorite and traditional fried shrimp one night and beef and noodles another night....we went to visit a historical spot in Harlingen (can't remember the name!)...but they had the first house that was built in Harlingen and the first hospital. Pretty cool! Then we bought a fishing pole so we could try to fish in my parents' backyard in the resaca (not sure if that's how you spell it!) We had no luck with the fish, but we did see a few turtles! We also ate at an amazing BBQ restaurant...probably Jason's favorite part of the trip!
We thoroughly enjoyed the 70 degree weather while we were there and we even went for a walk/jog (yes, I actually jogged some of the way!) I could definitely get used to that weather! It was great to see my parents...and we definitely encouraged them to come visit us in Nashville since they've only been here once for our wedding!! Or better yet, hopefully they'll retire soon and move closer...at least within a four hour drive...that would be nice! :)
