This was a Steeplechase that will definitely go down in the books! We awoke on Saturday morning to the pouring rain, thunder and lightning. Not to mention that it has been raining here non-stop for about the past 2 weeks. It was an interesting experience trying to set up everything in the monsoon, but the rain subsided after about an hour or so and the sun actually came out! The field was a complete muddy mess! My last-minute rain boot purchase was definitely worth it! And turns out everyone else had the same idea! Overall, it was a great day at the races!
In a way, Steeplechase is like a wedding...all that planning and preparing, and then it's over in a split second! At least this party happens once a year! I can't wait until Steeplechase 2010! Here are a few pictures from the day:
